Melissa Haloossim is board certified Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in cosmetic skin care. Prior to leading Skin Thesis®, Melissa helped build and run one of the top skin care corporations in the country where she led a team of 8 nurses responsible for laser treatments, cosmetic injections, and LED lights. She started her nursing career working at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She then trained in skin care and began working in private practice for a plastic surgeon and a dermatologist. Melissa has a BS in Animal Science from UC Davis, a BS in Nursing from Mt. St. Mary’s College, and earned her Masters of Science in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner from UCLA. Melissa is a native of Los Angeles, CA. She has 4, yes 4 children and a fantastic husband who helped write this bio.

After 15 years in aesthetic medicine, we have adopted a holistic theory that utilizes technology, injectables, specialized treatments, and products to deliver optimal results. The objective should be natural and rejuvenated skin. Unfortunately, there is no fountain of youth, silver bullet, or magic product to create younger, healthy skin. However, a thoughtful, integrated approach that incorporates the right services and products can make a significant impact for change and prevention. We believe the people delivering that guidance and performing those procedures are equally as important. The Skin Thesis® staff is made up of board certified Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and Physician Assistants. Our practitioners are trained to listen and spend ample time consulting with our clients to develop the appropriate blueprint.
Dr. Roya Ghafouri is an Oculoplastic, Facial and Reconstructive Surgeon with extensive training in eyelid and facial surgery. She has a range of extensive experience as a physician, researcher, educator, and scholar.
Dr. Ghafouri graduated cum laude from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. She received a Master of Science degree in Physiology, and then a medical doctorate from Chicago Medical School, graduating with high distinction. She interned at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and was Chief Resident at Boston Medical Center at Boston University Medical School. She went on to become an Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellow at Tufts University School of Medicine. She later returned to Boston Medical Center where she served as Director of Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery Service.
As our Medical Director, Dr. Ghafouri brings an extensive background in surgery and aesthetics to our Skin Thesis team.
She currently resides Southern California with her husband and two children.

Katie Saliman, RN
Aesthetic Nurse
Katie Saliman is a Registered Nurse with over 10 years of experience in aesthetics. Working in Dermatology and Plastic Surgery, she has a significant background working with lasers, lights, and injectables. She is an expert in body contouring including performing Coolsculpting for the past 8 years. Additionally, Katie is a skilled, advanced injector who prides herself on providing natural results. As a painter and sculptor herself, she finds that her artistic background allows her to provide her clients with a unique approach to achieve their aesthetic goals. Katie was born in Oregon and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has been living in Los Angeles for the past 10 years, married to her husband, Ryan, and has a beautiful daughter.
Viviane is a certified Esthetician and Medical Assistant in the State of California. A Briazilian native, Viviane has been working in the skin care industry for over 10 years and displays a deep passion for her trade.
While she believes that beauty begins on the inside, Viviane takes pride in knowing that her work has resulted in improved confidence and self-esteem. As a skin care therapist, educating her clients and encouraging them to look and feel better about themselves in the most important aspect of her career.
Viviane focuses on each clients unique needs and tailors an approach to achieve the best outcome. Viviane also recognizes that the skincare industry is fluid and rapidly changing. She is committed to on going training and access to the latest in advanced technology.
Viviane is also a mother of 5 beautiful kids!

Courtney Connolly Is a board certified physician assistant and skin specialist. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona Magna Cum Laude with a major in anatomy and physiology. She went on to earn her Master’s degree from Midwestern University. Courtney is committed to helping patients enhance their natural beauty using the latest innovations in aesthetic medicine. Combining her background in anatomy with her training in aesthetics, Courtney helps clients create a personalized plan to achieve their goals.
